need pots and pans help

July 1st, 2007 at 10:56 pm

My pots and pans are about to stand on their last legs! I would like to see what everyone else uses and how happy you are with them. I am not looking for the K-mart cheap sets--no offense I have had many a cheap sets--I just want some decent quality pots and pans that will last a long time
Thanks

We also went through the cheap sets over the years. About 2 years ago, we had had enough. We bought a set of Calphalon Triply Stainless Steel cookward and we absolutely love it. It is sturdy, heats well, cooks evenly and cleans up in a snap. We use these pots and pans virtually every day and they still look brand new after 2 years. I have no doubt that these will last us for many years, if not the rest of our lives. We got our set at Bed, Bath and Beyond. It was $400 and came with a $50 store gift card, so $350 net cost.

SO far that is the kind of set I was leaning towards. The savings will also be better with the addition of the famous 20% off coupons.

We got a good set of pots and pans about 25 years ago for over $200. That was a whole lot of money back then, but we are still using them. We got them at Sears or Penny's.

I got new pots and pans last year. I got hard-anodized ones. They work so much better than teflon or ordinary stainless steel pans.

If you settle on a name brand, watch amazon.com sales. They sometimes have kitchen items at great discounts.

Mine came from the amish store. You know they are tough when they were made to withstand being used on a wood cookstove, or over an open flame. You can find the same sets online at Lehmans.com They come in stainless, cast iron or some are coated with telfon. I love them. They still look brand new and I have had them over 20 years.
